“I spent a huge part of my life in active addiction, progressing from one drug to the other, thinking there was no way out. I am now many years in recovery through the help and support of a charity recovery house. I am an example of this model working for anyone ready to make that change.”

Hello my name is Matthew, and I’m Proof That Recovery Is Possible.

Over five years ago, I was trapped in addiction, struggling to find a way out. Today, I’m living proof that recovery is possible with the right support, resources, and determination. My journey hasn’t been easy, but thanks to organisations like New Chapters, I was able to rebuild my life. Now, I’m committed to helping others do the same.

  • Becky Clarke

    Trustee

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I have been volunteering with New Chapters from the beginning after getting to know Yvonne in a previous role.

I have been involved with the New Chapters hub on a Monday and a Thursday and have seen it grow from strength to strength in numbers and the impact it has on all that are a part of it. It is a privilege to be a part of each individual’s recovery journey.

  • Sue Bluteau

Sue is a Management Accountant and started volunteering with New Chapters in July 24. Having recently retired she wanted to continue to use her professional knowledge in an organisation that is so valuable in the community.
