Aimee’s Story
Aimee
“Where i am today is 16 months clean, my children back living with me a life i dont have to run away from and a purpose. New chapters has changed mine and my childrens life I’m forever grateful. “
I first found new chapters when i was at my complete rock bottom in february 2025 and put a referral through. I was drinking a bottle of vodka a day and taking cocaine regularly. I have 4 children one by one my oldest children had left living with me because my addiction had over taken my whole life, my daughter had to be taken out of my care by my dad because i couldnt look after her! my life was unmanagable and i was dying in front of my children and loved ones. I didnt know any other way i just presumed this was my life, because thats all ive known my family on my moms side are alcholics!
New Chapters
I went to the hub at dale st leamington, to do my assessment and i was very intoxicated, angry, broken and in desperate need of help. New chapters (Yvonne ) recognised my needs and knew i needed help they helped me go through CGL to get a detox which i did in new chapters when i was admitted in march 2025. I woke up in new chapters and started to do the work on myself. I learnt that i had the disease of addiction, and that there was a way out and i could be the mom to my children that they so deserved. I was treated with love, compassion and support ! I completed the programme at new chapters after I’d been in treatment for 18 weeks.
“I was supported to get a new home for me and my children which has given us the fresh start we needed.”
I was supported when i left with after care groups where i can talk about how im feeling and support with my recovery. I feel that if the after care wasnt in place for me i would not be where i am today. Where i am today is 16 months clean, my children back living with me a life i dont have to run away from and a purpose. New chapters has changed mine and my childrens life I’m forever grateful. I volunteer at new chapters now and its so rewarding to be able to help fellow suffering addicts like i was. The change in my life is nothing short of a miracle …
